The Board of Health shall be composed of five members to be appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by Council. They shall serve without compensation and a majority of them shall be a quorum. The Mayor shall be President of the Board by virtue of his office.. The members shall hold their offices for a term of five years from the date of their appointments and until their successors are appointed and qualified. However, the original appointments shall be made for one, two, three, four and five years respectively.
