(a) Every multiple dwelling shall have at least two (2) continuous flights of stairs extending from the entrance floor to the top floor, and at least one (1) such flight of stairs shall connect directly with an entrance hall. All staircases over one (1) riser in height shall have a properly installed and maintained hand railing on one (1) side of such stairway adjacent to such stairs. An open stairway shall have a railing installed on the open side.
(b) Every multiple dwelling, that does not have direct egress to the outside, shall have direct access to a public hall or walkway which connects to the stairways leading to the entrance floor.
(c) Any open public walkway, not on the entrance floor, shall have a railing installed on the open side. (Ord. 2022-95. Passed 11-28-22.)
