(a) Every appliance or piece of equipment burning solid, liquid or gaseous fuel, where permitted, shall be connected to an approved smoke pipe and flue. However, any appliance approved for use without such connection is exempted from the requirements of this section.
(b) Gas dryers shall be vented to the exterior of the building. All other dryers shall be vented to the exterior of the dwelling unless manufacturer's instructions stipulate an alternative.
