(a) Upon display of the proper credentials, sworn officers excluded, any employee of the division of police, division of fire, department of building and zoning services, or Portsmouth Public Health may be permitted to inspect the hotel/motel premises, short-term rental, or applicant's dwelling to ensure compliance with this Chapter.
(b) If the request for inspection described in division (a) of this section is denied, any sworn officer or employee of the division of police, division of fire, department of building and zoning services, code enforcement division, or Portsmouth Public Health may seek an administrative search warrant from a court of competent jurisdiction authorizing said inspection.
