All connections of lead with iron pipe must be made with a brass sleeve or ferrule of the same size as the lead pipe and thoroughly calked with lead, and the lead pipe must be attached to the sleeve or ferrule by a wiped lead joint. All connections of lead pipe must be wipe joints. Putty joints will not be permitted.
