545.23 TAMPERING AND INTERFERENCE WITH FIRE PROTECTION FACILITIES.
   (a)   No person shall take any water from any public hydrant or cistern except for the purpose of extinguishing fires or cleaning or exercising of the engines or apparatus belonging to the Department of Fire. No person shall remove any cap of a fire hydrant without the written permission of the Fire Chief or use any kind of wrench other than a standard hydrant wrench.
   (b)   No person shall place or leave any obstruction on the same side of the street or thoroughfare on which a fire plug or fire cistern is situated, within ten feet from either side of such fire plug or fire cistern.
   (c)   No person shall interfere with the Fire Chief or any member of the Department of Fire while in the performance of his duty, or injure or interfere with any of the apparatus or property of the Department of Fire.
   (d)   No person shall destroy or injure or, without authority, meddle or tamper with any of the boxes, wires, poles or any of the apparatus necessary to, or connected in any manner with, the fire alarm system of the City.
   (e)   Whoever violates any of the provisions of this section is guilty of a misdemeanor of the third degree.
