(A) The city is located in Cameron County, State of Texas, approximately ten miles north of the mouth of the Rio Grande River and on the inland side of the Laguna Madre to the west of the Gulf of Mexico.
(B) The city is separated from the Gulf of Mexico by the Laguna Madre and Padre Island, but is linked to Padre Island by the Port Isabel-Padre Island Causeway and to the Gulf of Mexico by a deep water channel and the intracoastal waterway.
