§ 116.22 FARES; RATES.
   (A)   (1)   The following rates, fares and charges for taxicab service are as hereby established and become effective upon the effective date of this chapter. They shall be posted in the driving compartment of each licensed vehicle in a place conspicuous to all passengers therein. These rates are the established rates for specific locations in the Cities of Port Isabel and South Padre Island:

      (2)   (a)   Standard limousines with a maximum capacity of six passengers. There shall be a minimum charge of $50 per contract. Subject to minimum charge, limousine service is to be charged according to the following maximum rates: the lesser of $10 a mile or $250 per hour.
         (b)   Extended limousines with a maximum capacity greater than six passengers. A minimum charge of $100 per contract. Subject to minimum charge, limousine service is to be charged according to the following maximum rates: the lesser of $15 per mile or $300 per hour.
      (3)   Shuttle buses. A maximum charge of $100 each way.
   (B)   There shall be posted at the right front dash above the glove compartment on the inside of each taxicab, limousine and shuttle bus a card showing the rates charged passengers of the taxicab, limousine or shuttle bus. No driver shall refuse to convey a passenger at the rate specified on the rate card or demand or receive an amount in excess of the rates displayed on the card.
   (C)   No driver, upon receiving full payment of fare from a passenger, shall refuse to give a receipt upon request of the passenger.
   (D)   No person shall refuse to pay the legal fare of any taxicab before leaving the taxicab, limousine or shuttle bus before leaving the taxicab, limousine or shuttle bus, except that owners of limousines and shuttle buses may require the payment of the fare prior to transportation, or may enter into a mutually-agreed arrangement to bill the passenger.
   (E)   No taxicab, limousine or shuttle bus driver within the city shall work as a taxicab, limousine or shuttle bus driver more than 60 hours between the hours of 12:01 a.m. Sunday and 11:59 p.m. the next Saturday.
