It shall be unlawful to make any excavation in any way contrary to or at variance with the terms of the permit therefor. Proper bracing shall be maintained to prevent the collapse of adjoining ground. No injury shall be done to any pipes, cables or conduits in the making of the excavations and prior thereto, notice shall be given to all persons maintaining any pipes, cables or conduits, as well as to the City Building Inspector. The notice shall contain a designation of which cables, pipes or conduits may be affected by the making of the excavations. No unnecessary damage or injury shall be done to any plants (including the roots thereof).
