SECTION 3.07 URBAN DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT.
   There shall be established and maintained an Urban Development Department to assist the Planning and Zoning Commission in the creation of a master plan for the City of Port Isabel, as well as to administer the current building ordinances of the City and perform such functions as are from time to time designated by the City Manager. The Building Inspector shall serve as the chief administrative officer of this Department, and as such, shall be appointed or terminated by the City Manager, with the approval of the City Commission. The duties set out in this Charter relating to zoning regulations, construction and building permits, and ordinances relating to planning and use of property within the City of Port Isabel shall be administered through this Department.
