The following uniform monthly rates shall be charged all persons, firms or corporations for the use of water within the corporate limits of the city; the rates are to remain in effect until they are changed by the City Commission.
(A) Domestic consumers.
(1) For the first 2,300 gallons or part thereof furnished during any calendar month, the charge shall be $1.50, which shall constitute the minimum charge; and if over the minimum amount and up to 5,000 gallons, the cost shall, be derived at the rate of $0.65 per 1,000 gallons.
(2) For all water furnished in excess of 10,000 gallons during any calendar month, the cost shall be $0.45 per 1,000 gallons.
(3) The minimum monthly charge shall be paid for each and every separate residence.
(4) Summer rates may be established by resolution of the governing body at its discretion. Likewise, special accounts may be granted by this same governing body, whether the account be classified as domestic or commercial or industrial.
(B) Commercial consumers.
(1) First 5,000 gallons shall be charged at the rate of $0.80 per 1,000 gallons, with the minimum charge of $1.50 for 1,875 gallons or less, in any calendar month.
(2) For all water furnished in excess of 5,000 gallons and not more than 10,000 gallons in any calendar month, the cost shall be $0.70 per 1,000 gallons.
(3) For all water furnished in excess of 10,000 gallons the cost shall be $0.60 per 1,000 gallons, in any calendar month.
(4) For consumers outside the city limits, the foregoing rates increased 50% shall apply. Curtailment of supply shall start with this class first in the event the curtailment is deemed necessary at any time.
