109.05 ADVISORY BOARD FOR AFFIRMATIVE ACTION AND EQUAL OPPORTUNITY.
   An Advisory Board for Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity, created January 1, 1979 shall consist of five members, who shall be appointed by the Mayor after consultation with Council and persons in the minority community. All Advisory Board members shall be City residents. The minority community shall be represented on the Board by at least two of the five representatives. The members of the Board shall be appointed for a term of three years, or until a duly appointed successor has been qualified. The terms of office on the initial board shall be as follows: three members to be appointed for a three-year term with at least one member to be a representative of the minority community. Two members shall be appointed to serve a two-year term with at least one member to be a representative of the minority community. Thereafter, each succeeding term shall be for a period of three years.
   The Advisory Board shall monitor the implementation of this policy and shall generally advise the Mayor and Council on matters of minority opportunity and relations within the community.
