§ 30.30 ELECTION; QUALIFICATIONS; TERMS.
   (A)   The elected officials of the city shall consist of a Mayor and six Council members, who shall be elected three from each of the two wards of the city. Said Council members shall be citizens of the United States, residents of the city and registered voters; provided, a Council member’s term shall expire and the office become vacant upon removal or change of residence from the city.
   (B)   (1)   The term of office of each member of the City Council is four years. All general and special elections from and after the effective date of the ordinance from which this provision originates shall be held in conjunction with the statewide primary or general election and shall be governed by the provisions of the state’s Election Act, being Neb. RS 32-101 et seq.
      (2)   Not later than July 1 of each even-numbered year, the City Council shall certify to the Election Commissioner/County Clerk, on forms provided by the Secretary of State, the name of the city, the number of officers to be elected, the length of the terms of office, the vacancies to be filled by the election and the length of the remaining term and the number of votes to be cast by a registered voter for each office.
