2-3-3: QUALIFICATIONS:
The director of emergency management/public safety shall, prior to his appointment to such office, have comprehensive knowledge of emergency management, disaster preparedness, public safety communications, and safety and training methods. He shall have demonstrated ability to foster and maintain cooperative relationships with other department heads, city officials, federal and state agencies, and the general public. Such officer should demonstrate resourcefulness, sound judgment in emergencies, demonstrated integrity, tact, and be in good physical condition. He shall also have a good knowledge of the geography of the city. (1980 Code § 2-125; amd. 2003 Code)
