There is hereby created the office of assistant city attorney. The board of commissioners shall appoint an assistant city attorney to serve for a term of one year to be appointed at the first regular meeting of September along with city officers. He shall be appointed in the same manner as provided for in the charter of the city for city clerk, city attorney and city treasurer. (1980 Code § 11-20; amd. 2003 Code)
