8-2-10: FLEEING, ELUDING POLICE OFFICER:
Any driver or operator of a motor vehicle who, having been given a visual or audible signal by a peace officer directing said driver or operator to bring his vehicle to a stop, wilfully fails or refuses to obey such direction, increases his speed, extinguishes his lights, or otherwise flees or attempts to elude the officer, upon conviction thereof, shall be punished as provided in section 1-4-1 of this code. The signal given by the peace officer may be by hand, voice, red light, or siren; provided, the officer giving such signal shall be in uniform, prominently displaying his badge of office and, if driving a vehicle, such vehicle shall be appropriately marked showing it to be an official police vehicle.
