Before issuing or renewing any business tax receipt to engage in business as a contractor or subcontractor, the Development Services Director or designee shall require the applicant to produce a current valid certificate of competency from the Broward County Central Board of Examiners or State Certification (DBPR). Each qualifier for each contracting business shall obtain a business tax receipt for each classification of construction engaged in.
