It shall be the duty of the Chief of Police and all persons working under his supervision to enforce the provisions of this chapter and the state laws applicable to traffic enforcement, to assist in the prosecution of person charged with violations, to investigate accidents, to cooperate with other officials of the city in the administration of this chapter and in developing ways and means to improve traffic conditions, and to carry out those duties specially imposed by this chapter and other ordinances relating to traffic enforcement.
