Intermittent employee appointments may also be made to fill vacancies resulting from regular employees on authorized leave of absence. These appointments shall be made from the appropriate lists where possible and shall be for a specific period. The acceptance of an appointment by an eligible shall not affect his standing on the list for permanent appointment.
