§ 32.71 RESERVE POLICE PROGRAM.
   There is hereby established a Police Reserve Program of the Police Department under the direction and control of the Chief of Police or his designee, as follows:
   (A)   The duties and authority of auxiliary police officers shall be as specified in Chapter 943, F.S., as it presently exists or as it may be hereafter amended, and Chapter 11B, Florida Administrative Code, as it presently exists or as it may be hereafter amended, for auxiliary law enforcement officers and as established in the policies of the Police Department.
   (B)   The duties and authority of part-time police officers shall be as specified in Chapter 943, F.S., and Chapter 11B, Florida Administrative Code, part-time law enforcement officers and as established in the policies of the Police Department.
   (C)   Reserve police officers will be accorded the benefits and protections of State Worker's Compensation laws.
   (D)   Reserve police officers will be appointed by the Chief of Police in accordance with the hiring policies of the city and state law.
   (E)   Reserve police officers are classified as part-time employees of the city and may be discharged from their positions for good cause. Notwithstanding any other sections of this code, reserve police officers are not entitled to have their dismissal or other disciplinary action reviewed by the Employee Board of Appeals.
   (F)   The Chief of Police may establish a rank structure within the police reserve program and appoint persons to serve in ranks as deemed necessary.
