The Treasurer shall perform such duties as may be prescribed for him/her by statute or by ordinance. He/she shall receive all money paid in to the city, either directly from the person paying it, or from the hands of such other officer as may receive it, giving his/her receipt therefor, and he/she shall pay out money only on vouchers or orders properly signed by the City Clerk and the Mayor. It shall be the duty of the Treasurer to see that his/her monthly account balances with monthly accounts of other city departments who have collected monies of any kind.
