All officers and employees of the city shall receive such salaries as may be provided from time to time by ordinance. No officer or employee receiving a salary from the city shall be entitled to retain any portion of any fees collected by him/her in the performance of his/her duties as municipal officer or employee in the absence of a specific ordinance provision to that effect. Pursuant to the ordinance adopting social security for the employees of the city, enacted December 6, 1954, and to the statutes relating thereto, the withholding and contributions provided by law for the purpose shall be made in accordance with the agreement pertaining thereto.
