All ordinances passed by the Council shall be recorded by the City Clerk in a proper book or books kept for that purpose, which book or books shall have complete indexes. The originals of all ordinances shall be kept on file in the Clerk's office. In the case of ordinances requiring publication, due proof of such publication shall be procured by the Clerk in the form of a certificate of the printer or publisher, which such certificate shall be attached to such ordinance or written and attested upon the face of the original of such ordinance.
