15.12.040: SMOKE DETECTORS:
In addition to the requirements of the international fire code for new and existing buildings, smoke alarms shall be installed in all dwelling units and common areas of new and existing residential group occupancies. They shall be listed single or multiple station alarms complying with UL 217 and installed in accordance with NFPA 72. Exception: Buildings with no more than two (2) dwelling units. (Ord. 2930, 2014)
