A. The city forester, under the direction of the P&R director, is authorized to establish procedures for the planting and management of public trees within the city and to enforce the provisions of this chapter.
B. The planting, maintenance, and removal of trees in parks and public places shall be the responsibility of the city forester and staff under the direction of the P&R director. All tree work shall be accomplished by city employees under the direction of the city forester or by certified arborists who are contracted by P&R to perform such work or by public utility companies performing work necessary to protect their utility lines.
C. To facilitate the proper selection, planting, and maintenance of trees in residential, commercial, and industrial developments within city limits, the city forester may review and comment on development applications when such applications are submitted to the city's P&DS. (Ord. 2812, 2007)
