A. In the event that any or all of a comprehensive liability plan approved by the council includes retention of risk, the mayor shall provide for claims investigation and adjustment services and legal defense services for claims which fall within the retained risk.
B. In so providing, the mayor may, with the approval of the council, enter into professional service contracts on behalf of the city with private firms which provide claims investigation, claims adjustment or legal defense services. In the case of contracts for claims investigation and adjustment, the mayor shall follow the selection procedures for professional service contracts found in Idaho Code section 67-2320.
