Pursuant to § 110b of Public Act 77 of 1989, being M.C.L.A. § 41.110b, as amended, the township hereby creates and establishes a group insurance plan to make arrangements with a prepayment plan authorized to transact business within the state, insuring and covering one or more of the following under policies of group insurance or prepayment plan contracts, or both, covering life, accident, dental care, vision care, health, hospitalization, and medical and surgical service and expense insurance and hereby authorizes the Township Board to contract with any company authorized to transact the business within the state for the group insurance policies and to establish a cafeteria plan authorized under § 125 of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 for its elected or appointed officers and employees, any classes of elected or appointed officers and employees, and dependents of those officers and those employees and to offer any other employment benefit authorized by state of federal law.

(A) Full-time elected township officers and employees and their spouses and dependents; and
(B) Eligible retired full-time employees, elected officials and their spouses and dependents.

(A) For purposes of § 33.037, full-time employees shall mean employed for at least 37.5 hours per week on a regular basis, subject to any pertinent collective bargaining agreement, employment agreement or township policy.
(B) The elected Supervisor, Clerk and Treasurer shall be considered full-time.
(C) For purposes of full-time retired elected officials, ELIGIBLE shall mean either having served five complete terms as a full-time elected official, or a minimum of 25 years of full-time employment with the township, including at least two full-time elected official terms.
(D) Full-time eligibility for employees and retired employees shall be as defined in the applicable collective bargaining agreement, employment agreement or township policies.
(E) The Deputy Clerk and Deputy Treasurer shall not be eligible for participation in the group insurance plan unless specifically authorized by the Township Board.
