§ 90.22  DISPOSITION OF SEIZED DOGS.
When dogs are found running at large, and their ownership is known, an authorized township representative shall make every reasonable effort to notify the owner, by mail or otherwise, to inform the owner that the dog is impounded. If no owner has claimed the dog within five days of the seizure and impoundment, the animal may be sold or disposed of in the manner provided by law. Any dog sold at auction must be properly immunized and licensed at the cost of the purchaser. Dogs impounded that have been exposed to rabies or any dog that has attacked a person shall be kept until such time and under such conditions as required by the Police Department or Health Department.
