An owner or his or her authorized agent may redeem a dog from the dog pound by executing a sworn statement of ownership, furnishing a license and tag as required by this subchapter and state law, and paying for any costs incurred by the township for impoundment as set by resolution of the Township Board. If the dog is unlicensed, the dog must be properly immunized and licensed, at the owner’s expense, prior to release of the dog and may be subject to additional fines. The Police Department shall keep a record of all seizures of dogs and the collection of fees and other monies and make monthly reports to the Township Board.
