For the purpose of this chapter the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning. When not inconsistent with the context, words used in the present tense include the future, words in the plural include the singular and words in the singular include the plural. "Shall" is mandatory and not merely directory.
DRIPLINE. The approximately circular vertical extension to the ground of the outermost branches and leaves of the tree as an indication of the spread of the root system.
LARGE TREES. Those attaining a height of 45 feet or more.
LAWN STRIP, STREET LAWN or CURB STRIP. That part of a street or highway right-of-way outside of the portion improved for travel, including the sidewalks.
MEDIUM TREES. Those attaining a height of 30 to 45 feet.
PARK. Includes all public parks.
PERSON. Any person, firm, partnership, association, corporation, company or organization of any kind.
PROPERTY LINE. The legal boundary line.
PROPERTY OWNER. The person owning such property as shown by the deed records of the County Recorders of Richland and Huron Counties, State of Ohio.
PUBLIC LANDS, PUBLIC AREAS or PUBLIC PROPERTY. Includes all other grounds owned by the Village of Plymouth, Ohio.
PUBLIC TREES. Includes all shade and ornamental trees now or hereafter growing on any street, including the lawn strip, tree lawn or curb strip or on any other public land.
SHADE OR ORNAMENTAL TREE OR SHRUB. Any and all woody vegetation.
SMALL TREES. Those attaining a height of 20 to 30 feet.
STREET or HIGHWAY. The entire width of every public way or right-of-way when any part thereof is open to the use of the public, as a matter of right, for purposes of vehicular or pedestrian traffic.
TREES. Includes all trees, regardless of species and height, and all woody shrubs, regardless of size or height.
VILLAGE. The incorporated Village of Plymouth, Ohio.
