The license issued under this chapter shall be exhibited in a conspicuous place if the applicant is using a vehicle or a building in his business or otherwise carried at all times when peddling, soliciting or canvassing in the city and shall be exhibited by said peddler, solicitor, or canvasser whenever requested to do so by a peace officer, the mayor, the city clerk or any person solicited or canvassed.
