The Cemetery Superintendent will be in control of all memorials placed in Mizpah Cemetery subject to the following conditions.
(A) Memorials and markers will be limited to headstones only.
(B) Vases, flower pots and “peace light” or similar funerary devices all of which are permanently affixed to a headstone shall be allowed as part of the headstone.
(C) All memorials placed before September 11, 2017, which may be a memorial of another type or style than a headstone, will be allowed to remain in place subject to the provisions of divisions (F) and (G) below.
(D) All headstones intended to be erected or placed on any grave or lot shall first be approved by the Cemetery Superintendent as to size, location on the lot, foundations and kind of stone to be used.
(E) All headstones, their erection, materials and placement must be in conformance with this chapter or with any rules or regulations hereafter established by the city.
(F) Should any memorial or marker installed prior to September 11, 2017, or any headstone presents a maintenance problem, becomes dilapidated or becomes a menace to the public, the Cemetery Superintendent has the right and duty to either correct the condition or remove the memorial, marker or headstone at the expense of the lot owner or purchaser.
(G) The fact of removal of any memorial, marker or headstone that presents a maintenance problem, becomes dilapidated or becomes a public menace will be recorded in the permanent cemetery record along with all legible information which could reasonably be obtained from the memorial, marker or headstone prior to removal.
