There shall be appointed by the Mayor of the city and ratified by the City Council on the first Monday of May of each year, a Finance Officer, City Attorney, City Electrician, Superintendent of Streets and Water, City Librarian, City Health and Sanitation Superintendent, Park and Cemetery Superintendent and such other officers as may be provided for by statute or ordinance, who shall hold office until the first Monday of May of the year following their appointment, and until their successors shall be appointed and qualified, unless otherwise their term should be terminated by the Mayor as by law provided.
