§ 71.13 WHAT TO DO ON APPROACH OF POLICE OR FIRE DEPARTMENT VEHICLE AND THE LIKE.
   Upon the immediate approach of an authorized emergency vehicle making use of audible and visual signals meeting the requirements of this chapter and the laws of the state, or of a police vehicle properly and lawfully making use of an audible signal only, the driver of every other vehicle shall immediately drive to a position as near as possible and parallel to the right-hand edge or curb of the highway or street, or in case of a one-way highway the nearest edge or curb, clear of any intersection of highways or streets, and shall stop and remain in such position unless otherwise directed by a police or traffic officer or until the authorized emergency vehicle shall have passed. This section shall not operate to relieve the driver of an authorized emergency vehicle from the duty to drive with due regard for the safety of all persons using the highway.
