§ 71.06 OVERTAKING A VEHICLE.
   (A)   The driver of any vehicle overtaking another vehicle proceeding in the same direction of a two-lane street shall pass at a safe distance to the left thereof or on a four-lane street shall pass at a safe distance in the lane for traffic going the same direction as the overtaken vehicle but not being used by the overtaken vehicle.
   (B)   The driver of a vehicle shall not deviate from his or her direct line of travel without ascertaining that such movement can be made with safety to other vehicles approaching from the rear and about to overtake and pass such first mentioned vehicle.
