(A) The Town Fire Territory will operate and maintain an emergency ambulance service that provides both basic life support and advanced life support to the citizens of the town.
(B) This emergency medical ambulance service will be operated and maintained for medical emergencies only and not for prearranged medical visits, transportation to doctor’s offices, clinics, convalescent transfers or transportation of patients from hospitals back to their residence or extended care facility unless duly authorized by the Fire Chief or his or her designee. The town’s obligation is to only render emergency first aid and if necessary transport emergency patients to an authorized hospital.
