(1) Signs within 600 feet of and visible from a residential district shall not exceed a light output of 100 nits during nighttime hours. Signs shall have a functioning ambient light monitor and automatic dimming equipment.
(2) Lighting directed towards a sign shall be shielded so that it illuminates only the sign surface and does not shine on, cause glare to, or otherwise impair the vision of the driver of a motor vehicle or any residence.
