(A) All streets and highways leading into the town shall be properly posted warning operators of vehicles used for transportation of goods and property and exceeding weight limits prescribed by this chapter that they must follow state or federal routes.
(B) The operator of a vehicle exceeding such weight limits upon entering the town on a street other than a state or federal route shall proceed immediately by the shortest way possible to the nearest state or federal route to continue its journey.
