5-2-2: DISCHARGING FIREARMS:
   A.   1. It shall be unlawful for any person to discharge any shotgun without the permission from the owner or property manager, within six hundred feet (600') of:
         a.   A house, dwelling or any other building.
         b.   Any structure in which a domestic animal is kept or fed, including a barn, poultry yard, corral, feeding pen or stockyard.
      2.   It shall be unlawful to discharge any shotgun toward any public street or roadway.
   B.   It shall be unlawful for any person to discharge any dangerous weapon or firearm within the limits of the city except:
      1.   Shotgun as noted above,
      2.   Archery for target practice only,
      3.   Slaughtering of livestock for home food production,
      4.   In self-defense,
      5.   To protect livestock or animals,
      6.   Or in the case of any peace officer or animal control officer in the discharge of his duties.
   C.   It shall be unlawful for any person to discharge any dangerous weapon or firearm from an automobile or other vehicle or to discharge a dangerous weapon or firearm from upon or across any highway.
   D.   It shall be a class B misdemeanor, subject to penalty as provided in section 1-4-1 of this code, for any person discharging any dangerous weapons or firearms except as stated in subsections A and B of this section. (Ord. 2010-04, 8-5-2010, eff. 8-6-2010)
