723.01 PEDDLER/SOLICITOR AND MOBILE VENDORS.
   No person shall enter upon the premises of any residence in the Municipality for the purpose of soliciting orders for, or selling goods, wares, merchandise or services of any kind without first obtaining a permit from the Chief of Police, or his designee. No person shall carry, convey transport goods, wares, merchandise or services of any kind from place to place or street to street within the Village and offer or expose the same for sale from such vehicle without first obtaining a permit from the Chief of Police, or his designee.
   (a)   Definitions.  
      (1)   “Vehicle” means everything on wheels or runners, including motorized bicycles used for transportation of persons and/or conveyance of any material.
      (2)   “Person” includes any individual, corporation, business trust, estate, trust, partnership and association.
   (b)   Permit/Fees. The conditions, applications and fees of a peddler/solicitor, and mobile vendor are attached in Exhibit “A” to Ordinance 7-12. Modifications to Exhibit “A” may be made by Council when deemed necessary. The current conditions, application and fees will be made available on the Village internet web- site, or they can be obtained in person from the Chief of Police at 231 Friend Street, Plain City, Ohio.
   (c)   Penalty/Revocation. Whoever violates any provision of this chapter shall be guilty of a minor misdemeanor. Anyone who possess a current permit and violates any section as established by Council may have their permit revoked by the Chief of Police; or his designee. If a permit is revoked an application for a new permit may not be made for one calendar year after revocation date. All fees are non- transferable and non-refundable once fees are paid.
