2-6-3: DUTIES OF DIRECTOR:
The director of recreation and parks shall: (Ord. 932, 11-9-1965)
   (A)   Attend meetings of the commission; may serve as secretary to the commission and shall make such reports to the commission or to the city manager as shall be required. (Ord. 932, 11-9-1965; amd. Ord. 1080, 2-10-1976)
   (B)   Recommend the employment of required personnel, such as assistants, supervisors, leaders and clerical and maintenance employees in accordance with established employment proceedings and supervise them in the performance of their various duties.
   (C)   Administer, operate and maintain existing recreation and park areas and facilities and plan for the acquisition, development and operation of the proposed facilities in accordance with policies approved by the recreation and park commission and the city council.
   (D)   Inform the general public of the services and facilities being provided by the recreation and park department.
   (E)   Solicit suggestions from the general public to improve or increase the effectiveness of the service.
   (F)   Cooperate with governmental and voluntary organizations and agencies in the furtherance of recreation opportunities.
   (G)   Prepare manuals, bulletins and reviews on recreation problems.
   (H)   Provide, upon request, assistance of a technical nature to community agencies and organizations having problems relating to recreation and park areas and facilities and programs.
   (I)   Counsel with officials of public and private organizations and interested groups concerning community recreation and leisure activities and assist them in the promotion of recreation services.
   (J)   Conduct studies of local conditions and needs for recreation services and assist with recruitment and training of recreation personnel. (Ord. 932, 11-9-1965)
