(A) Fines for violations of any of the sections of this chapter and chapters 3 and 4 of this title, unless otherwise stated therein, shall be set by a master parking fine resolution of the city council establishing the fines for any such violations. Said master parking fine resolution may be amended from time to time at the discretion of the city council.
(B) Multiple violations by the same vehicle within any twenty four (24) hour period of the same section shall cause the fine to be doubled for such subsequent violations.
(C) The failure of the owner or operator to make the payment of the fines hereinabove specified within thirty (30) days shall render the owner or operator subject to an additional penalty in the amount of twenty three dollars ($23.00). The penalty shall be reviewed annually by the city council and adjusted, if necessary, by city council resolution.
(D) Nonpayment of the fines and penalty amounts shall result in a lien being placed against the registration of the vehicle with the state of California department of motor vehicles.
(E) The city manager and/or chief of police shall have the authority to issue one day exemptions for overtime parking for individuals parking within the city. (Ord. 1596, 1-13-2004; amd. Ord. 1701, 12-10-2019)
