8-7-51: SLOPE FENCING:
All cut and fill slopes exceeding eight feet (8') in height with a slope of one and one-half (11/2) horizontal to one vertical or steeper may be fenced at the top of the cut with the need for fencing subject to final determination of safety by the building official. The minimum fence height shall be four feet (4'), the maximum opening shall be six inches (6") square, decision to be approved by the building official or, in the case of a discretionary project, the planning commission. The fence shall be capable of supporting a lateral uniform load of thirty (30) pounds per linear foot at the top of the fence together with a concentrated lateral load of two hundred (200) pounds at any point.
