No portion of this chapter shall prohibit the possession of any firearm, or any ordinary air rifle or pellet gun, or any ammunition for such weapons if carried pursuant to a valid permit issued by a duly authorized government agency or lawfully carried for purposes of gun safety training, hunting, fishing or other lawful sport.
