The provisions of this chapter shall apply to all alarm systems which were installed, connected, operated or maintained on or prior to the date on which this chapter becomes effective; provided, however, that the permits required for such alarm systems under section 6-14-4 of this chapter shall be obtained within ninety (90) days from and after the date on which this chapter becomes effective.
