Except for city employees covered by a collective bargaining agreement, a city officer or employee will be allowed three working days off, with pay, when a death occurs in the immediate family of the officer or employee. Immediate family is defined to include the following persons in relationship to the officer or employee: spouse, mother, father, son, daughter, sister, brother, mother-in-law, father-in-law, grandparent, stepchild, grandchild.
