§ 31.90 SALARIES; BONDS.
   (A)   Mayor.
      (1)   The Mayor shall receive for his or her compensation for services a salary of $12,500 per annum, and a $100 per month expense account.
      (2)   The official bond of the Mayor shall be in the penal sum of $3,000, conditioned as is by statute made and provided.
   (B)   Aldermen.
      (1)   Aldermen shall receive as compensation for their respective services the sum of $1,200 each, per annum, and a $65 per month expense account. In addition, Aldermen will receive actual reimbursement for expenses incurred for city business.
      (2)   Aldermen are not required to give an official bond.
      (3)   Effective May 1, 2022, the salary of the Aldermen shall be increased to $350, to remain for the remainder of the term.
   (C)   City Clerk.
      (1)   (a)   The City Clerk shall receive as compensation for his or her services as City Clerk, authorized agent for the state municipal retirement fund, and ex officio collector of special assessments the annual salary as set forth in the table below, payable biweekly; in addition thereto, he shall be entitled to all fees paid to him or her for issuing hunting and fishing licenses.

         (b)   Effective May 1, 2013, the salary of the City Clerk shall be increased 2% compounded annually for the election term.
         (c)   Effective May 1, 2021, the salary of the City Clerk shall increase by $.50 per hour, based on a 35-hour work week, for a sum of $910 annually for the election term.
      (2)   The official bond of the City Clerk shall be in the penal sum of $100,000, conditioned as is by statute made and provided.
   (D)   City Treasurer.
      (1)   (a)   The City Treasurer shall receive as compensation for his or her services the sum of $3,000 per annum, and he or she shall receive no other compensation for services.
         (b)   Effective May 1, 2013, the salary of the City Treasurer will be increased by $200 annually for the election term.
         (c)   Effective May 1, 2021, the salary of the City Treasurer will be increased by $60 annually for the election term.
      (2)   The official bond of the City Treasurer shall be in the penal sum of $100,000, conditioned as is by statute made and provided.
   (E)   Assumption of duties. All of the officers mentioned in this section shall take office and assume their duties pursuant Ord. 113, passed 11-17-92. This provision is made pursuant ILCS Ch. 65, Act 5, § 3.1-10-15.
