§ 34.15 ABSENCE; TARDINESS.
   (A)   Except for city employees covered by a collective bargaining agreement, in the event an employee will be absent or tardy, the employee shall notify his or her supervisor or department head before the scheduled starting time of each shift when the employee will be absent or tardy.
   (B)   An employee may be granted unscheduled time off only with the approval of the employee's supervisor or department head. If an employee desires time off, without pay, for personal business, the employee shall request the time off at or before the beginning of his or her work shift.
   (C)   In the event a department head, Chief Operator or Building Inspector will be absent or tardy, the person shall notify the Director of Public Works before the scheduled starting time of each shift when the person will be absent or tardy.
