1127.27 STORM SEWERS.
   All residential, commercial and industrial areas shall be provided with storm water drainage system consisting of drainage swales, roadside ditches, and/or storm water sewers adequate to serve the proposed area to be developed (including future).
   (a)   Any storm water drainage system proposed to be connected to the existing Village system shall be approved in writing by the Village prior to any design work being completed.
      (1)   Whenever a proposed storm sewer outlets into a storm sewer or ditch which is hydraulically inadequate or will be inadequate with the proposed storm sewer flow, detention and/or off site drainage improvements will be required. If detention is used, the allowable flow out is the existing flow from a 5-year intensity storm. The detention facility shall store the proposed flow from a 25-year intensity storm.
   (b)   The storm water drainage system shall be designed to prevent any additional surface run-off on adjacent properties.
   (c)   The storm water drainage system shall be designed using the rainfall intensity chart for Toledo, Ohio. The minimum design storm shall be a ten year frequency, 60 minute duration.
   (d)   Storm sewer pipe materials shall be polyvinyl chloride meeting requirements of ASTM D-3034, SDR 35, or reinforced concrete tongue and groove sewer pipe meeting requirements of ASTM C-76.
   (e)   Manholes or catch basins shall be provided at all changes in pipe slope or alignment or at a maximum spacing of 400 lineal feet. Manholes and catch basins shall be of precast concrete material, and have a cast iron frame and grate suitable for the proposed location. Solid covers shall be stamped “STORM”.
   (f)   Where underground storm water piping is provided, each lot shall be provided, to the right-of-way line, a 6-inch diameter (minimum) connection to the storm water piping system. (Ord. 9-1993. Passed 7-12-93.)
