137.02 QUALIFICATIONS AND DUTIES.
   (a)   The Solicitor shall be an attorney at law, admitted to the practice of law in the State of Ohio, but need not be a resident of the Village. It shall be the duty of the Solicitor to be the adviser of and attorney and counsel for the Village and for all officers and departments thereof in all matters relating to their official duties, and shall, when requested, give legal opinions to said officials and provide written opinions to any department or officer of the Village upon request in writing. The Solicitor shall represent the Village in all suits or cases in which it may be a party. On request of the Mayor, Village Administrator or Council, the Solicitor shall prepare contracts, legislation, bonds, and other instruments in writing in which the Village is concerned and shall endorse on each such document his approval of the form and correctness thereof. Except as otherwise directed by Council, the Solicitor shall attend all regular and special Council meetings, Records Commission meetings, Planning Commission meetings and meetings of the Board of Zoning Appeals and such other meetings as requested. The Solicitor shall perform such other duties as the Mayor, Village Administrator or Council may direct consistent with this office.
   (b)   The Solicitor shall be a part-time employee of the Village, subject to all benefits of part-time employees of the Village and further subject to all normal deductions, including PERS. (Ord. 22-2012. Passed 12-10-12.)
